Anatolia was founded in Canada in 1995, but its roots trace back to the early 20th century in Türkiye through the Elmaagacli family’s history in the building materials industry. What began as a modest porcelain and ceramic tile distribution operation in Ontario has since evolved into a global organization spanning manufacturing, logistics, design, sourcing, and product development across multiple continents.
Anatolia combines design-driven product development with large-scale operational capabilities, advanced manufacturing technologies, global sourcing networks, and vertically integrated logistics infrastructure. The company’s approach blends innovation, craftsmanship, operational excellence, and long-term thinking to support both residential and commercial projects around the world.
Design is central to Anatolia’s identity. The company invests heavily in research and development, trend forecasting, prototyping, and in-house design teams located in both Canada and Türkiye. Anatolia’s collections are developed with a focus on balancing aesthetics, functionality, engineering, and architectural inspiration across a range of tile, mosaic, and slab products in natural stone, porcelain, ceramic, and sintered surfaces.
Anatolia’s mission is to design, manufacture, and deliver thoughtfully crafted surface materials that elevate the built environment through innovation, quality, service, and sustainability. Its vision is to become the world’s most trusted and forward-thinking surfaces brand through design leadership and responsible manufacturing. Anatolia’s purpose is to inspire meaningful spaces by connecting people with surfaces that combine artistry, performance, and enduring value.
Anatolia has received numerous awards and recognitions for business excellence, innovation, design, sustainability, and partnership performance across the global surface materials industry. The company has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for nine consecutive years and achieved Platinum Club status in 2024, 2025, and 2026. Anatolia has also received awards including Best of Style & Design at Surfaces 2025 for Aeterna Surfaces, The True North Award for Best Canadian Product 2025, the Tecna Awards 2024 recognizing excellence in manufacturing investment and innovation, Home Depot Canada’s Innovation of the Year Award, multiple Lowe’s Vendor Partner of the Year awards, and the World Trade Center Savannah International Business of the Year Award. These recognitions reflect Anatolia’s ongoing commitment to innovation, operational excellence, design leadership, sustainability, and customer partnerships.

Its global footprint includes manufacturing plants, sourcing offices, distribution centers, product development hubs, and logistics operations designed to support customers worldwide.
GENERAL
Colorsync is Anatolia’s proprietary technology designed to create visual harmony between the product surface and body composition for a more refined and cohesive appearance. Colorsync is available in a selection of Sintered Slab and Porcelain products.
Porcelain tiles/slabs: Made from refined clay fired at high temperatures; dense, low absorption (<0.5%), UV stable, and suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Thickness typically ranges from 6–20 mm.
Sintered slabs: Manufactured using extreme heat and pressure to fuse natural minerals (similar to porcelain but more engineered and often larger format). They offer very high resistance to heat, scratching, staining, and UV exposure, making them suitable for interior and exterior high-performance applications.
Quartz (engineered stone): Made from crushed natural quartz bound with polymer resins; non-porous and consistent in appearance but not UV stable, so it can discolor overtime when used in outdoor applications.
SINTERED SLABS
Aeterna sintered slabs are available in both 6 mm and 12 mm thicknesses, depending on the color.
Aeterna sintered slabs are produced in large-format sizes including 160 × 320 cm and 162 × 322 cm formats.
Yes. Aeterna sintered slabs are suitable for countertop applications when properly installed over appropriate structural support systems following recommended fabrication and installation guidelines. For more information, please refer to the Fabrication Manual and Installation Manual available on the Resources page.
No. Aeterna sintered slabs are non-porous and do not require sealing as part of routine maintenance.
Yes. Aeterna sintered slabs are designed to be highly durable, stain resistant, UV resistant, and resistant to high temperatures, frost, and moisture. However, while extremely durable, the surfaces are not indestructible. Excessive impact, improper use, or abrasive materials may cause scratches, chips, or cracks. For more information, please refer to the Care and Maintenance Manual available on the Resources page.
While extremely durable, Aeterna sintered slabs are not indestructible. Excessive force, improper use, or impact can result in scratches, chips, or cracks. Cutting boards and proper surface protection are recommended.
Yes. Aeterna sintered slabs can be fabricated using traditional stone fabrication equipment including bridge saws, CNC machines, contouring machines, and waterjet cutting systems when appropriate tools and parameters are used. For more information, please refer to the Fabrication Manual available on the Resources page.
Yes. Bookmatch and continuous bookmatch slabs require careful planning prior to cutting and installation to help maintain graphic alignment and visual continuity.
Manual handling recommendations depend on slab thickness. At least 4 people are recommended for handling 6 mm slabs, while at least 6 people are recommended for 12 mm slabs. For more information, please refer to the Material Handling Manual available on the Resources page.
Aeterna sintered slabs should be stored carefully in stable, protected environments following all recommended material handling and storage procedures to help prevent breakage, chipping, or damage during storage and transportation. For more information, please refer to the Material Handling Manual available on the Resources page.
High-performance deformable adhesives meeting ANSI A118.4 or ISO C2E S2 standards or better are recommended depending on the installation type, substrate, and environmental conditions.
Yes. Movement joints, perimeter joints, subdivision joints, and expansion joints are required during installation to accommodate thermal, mechanical, and structural movement.
Aeterna sintered slab countertops can be fabricated with a variety of edge treatments depending on the desired design aesthetic, slab thickness, and installation method. Proper edge fabrication should always be completed by experienced fabricators using tools and techniques specifically designed for sintered slabs. The fabrication manual includes guidance related to countertop edge finishes, cutting procedures, mitering considerations, polishing recommendations, and support requirements. Careful planning is especially important around corners, cut-outs, overhangs, and bookmatched designs to help maintain both structural integrity and visual continuity. For best results, edge fabrication should follow the recommendations outlined in the Aeterna Fabrication Manual (available on the Resources page) and be performed using approved fabrication equipment and wet cutting methods.
For everyday maintenance, regularly sweep or vacuum the surface and clean using a flat mop, warm water, and a neutral cleaner diluted according to the manufacturer’s instructions. A non-abrasive microfiber cloth is recommended to help preserve the finish. After cleaning, rinse the surface with clean water to remove any remaining residue.
Abrasive pads, steel wool, cleaning waxes, oil-based cleaners, ammonia, bleach, hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, caustic soda, and highly acidic or alkaline cleaning products should not be used on Aeterna sintered slab surfaces, as they may damage or dull the finish.
Harsh or abrasive products such as steel wool, abrasive pads, hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, caustic soda, bleach, waxes, and oil-based cleaners should not be used, as they may damage or dull the surface.
Oil and grease can typically be removed using alkaline detergents or specialty degreasers formulated for slab surfaces. For heavier buildup, stronger commercial grease removers may be used after first testing in an inconspicuous area.
Yes. According to the Countertop Comparison section in the Care & Maintenance Manual (available on the Resources page), sintered slabs offer strong resistance to heat, stains, moisture, UV exposure, thermal shock, and abrasion, making them suitable for many indoor and outdoor applications.
Yes. Lightweight fiberglass mesh backing reinforcement is available upon request for both 6 mm and 12 mm sintered slabs. Please contact your Business Development Manager for ordering details.
